The Worm's Pool Rules
| GENERAL
POOL RULES |
| The
Worm's Pool web site is designed and created mainly for
the challenge of picking winning football teams and testing
your football knowledge against many other fans like yourself.
Like many things, the addition of having the chance to
win money, places an additional excitement on this challenge.
Together with friends, family and co-workers competing
against each other brings bragging rights into play. Bottom
line, having fun is the determining factor of the Worm's
Pool.
Due to the fact money
is involved, fairness and honesty must be achieved. The
Worm’s Pool is extremely dedicated to running and
fair and honest pool. Therefore all the rules and conditions
are listed here for your review. In the rare case an issue
is not directly covered by any rule, my decision will
be final.
My decisions will ALWAYS be based on what is fair based
on present rules, implied rules and common sense.
Due to the time and expense
to host, develop and maintain this pool site, I take one
free entry fee to the Worm's Pool to help offset my personal
costs. This is the only payment I receive; therefore my
judgments as to pool issues can remain non-bias. All pools
payout 100% of the collected fees for each game! |

| THE
WORM'S POOL |
| The
Worm’s Pool is our main pool; it actually consists
of two pools in one, a weekly and season pool. Both portions
are based on a weekly U-Pick-Um with confidence points
style pool.
Each week the player selects a team from each game they
feel will win. They assign a point value to each team
they select. The point value is 1 to the total number
of games played that week (generally 14 or 16). Each game
they picked the correct winner, they receive the point
value they assigned to it. Ties count as a loss. Their points are tallied, the
player with the most confidence points wins that week.
Missing Picks: Any game where a winner is not selected, it is counted as a loss and the player will lose the point value. If no point value was assigned but all other games are picked and points were assigned to those games, the remaining point is what will be forfeited.
In the case of a missed early game (i.e. Thursday) which is not a part of the complete submitted picks, the game is considered a loss and the lowest point value for that week is assigned to that game. This is only where a partial pick is submitted and all other games are picked.
The season pool is based on the total number of games
picked correctly NOT the confidence points. The player
who has the most correct picks at the end of the season
wins.
In case of two or more players being tied at the end of
the week or season, a special tie breaker rule applies - see Ties Breakers
Ties Breakers: See the standings page for all tie breaker rules... if any tie results after all tie breakers have been applied, the affected players split the prize for that tied level..
Weekly payout's
are:
1st place receives 70% of the total collected pool fund
2nd place receives 30% of the total collected pool fund
Season payout's

2nd place receives 30% of the total collected pool fund

| THE
SURVIVOR POOL |
The
Survivor Pool is very simple yet very challenging. A player
picks one team they feel will win that week, if the team
wins; they survive and remain in the pool for another
week. If their pick team loses, the player is out. What
makes this more difficult is that the player cannot select
the same team twice in the same pool season.
Last player remaining (The Survivor) wins the pool!
Survivor payout is:
1st place receives 100% of the total collected pool fund

| |
| KING
OF THE HILL POOL |
The
King of the Hill pool is a little like the survivor pool
except that it runs based on your weekly Worm’s
Pool picks.
Each week the Worm’s Pool ranks it’s players
by their weekly score. Each week the bottom player is
eliminated from the King of the Hill pool. Incase of a tie, both players are eliminated unless that leaves no players, then both survive until the next week. If no more weeks remain, then the tied players split pool
Basically, the winner of this pool will never be the lowest
ranked weekly player, making them the King of the Hill.
The number of players removed from the pool each week
will be determined by the number of participating players
and the number of weeks in the season. This will be announced
before the season starts.
This pool pays out the last player eliminated as 1st place
– the King and the second to last player eliminated
as 2nd place – the Queen!
King receives 70% of the total collected pool fund
Queen receives 30% of the total collected pool fund |

| THE
DIGIT POOL |
| The
Digit pool is purely luck, the proof of that is, I won
it last year!
Anyway, the Digit Pool is limited to only 32 players;
each player selects one NFL team.
Each team has the digits 0-9 at the start of the season.
As each week is played, the final score of your selected
team is removed from your Digits.
Example: I selected the Bears again this year… Let’s
say their final score for week one is 17, I would remove
the number 7 from my digits.
The player who removes all their digits first, wins!
In case of a tie or the season ends without anyone removing
all their digits, here are the tie breakers: The player
with the least number of digits left wins. If more than
one player has the same amount left, then we tally each
player’s remaining digits and the player with the
lowest total value is the winner. Any ties after that
the players involved spit the prize fund.
Remember, the player with the least amount of digits remaining
wins the first tie breaker, then total value!
The
payout for this pool is:
The Digit pool winner receives
100% of the total collected pool fund. |

except that the point spread will be used in this pool.
The office point spread will be added to the pick sheet
Friday Night at midnight, whatever the point spreads are
at that time will be the official numbers used no matter
what the actual point spread are at actual game time.
The office source for the spread has not yet been determined
and will be posted here as soon as it is available.
The Handicapper's Pool

pool. All ties are are counted as losses.

THE
MARGIN POOL |
| A Margin
Pool is similar to a Survivor Pool in some ways. Each week
the player picks a team (they cannot pick that team again, duplicate picks are treated as a loss).
If his team wins, the winning margin, or margin of victory
is added to his season point total. If his team loses, then
the winning margin is subtracted from his season point total.
The pool member that has the most points at the end of the
season is the winner. Total wins are used as a tiebreaker.
A Margin Pool is different from
a Survivor Pool in that in a Margin Pool, you play the
entire season, you are not eliminated with a loss. It
is a type of pool that you are never really out of it
until the end. You could be in first place, and wham,
your team loses by 28 points, and another player’s
team wins by 35 points.
Season payout is:
1st place receives 100% of the total collected pool fund
|
| |
Champions Pool |
The Champions Pool is where you pick one team at the beginning of the season, if that team wins, you wins the pool! However, anyone can pick any team, so there may be other players who have picked the same team, if that is the case, all the players who picked the winning team split the pot.
If the winning team is not picked, the pool carry's over to next year. If this happens, each player who played this year re-enters the pool and pays another single year fee $5.00. if you missed the first year and want to join the second or third year, you must pay for each year you have missed plus a $2.50 penalty for each year plus the current year's $5.00 fee.
Season Payout is:
100% of collected pool fund
(split among all winners if more than one, no tie breakers) |
| |
Reverse Survivor Pool |
The Reverse
Survivor Pool is very simple yet very challenging. A player
picks one team they feel will LOSE that week, if the team
loses; they survive and remain in the pool for another
week. If their pick team wins, the player is out. What
makes this more difficult is that the player cannot select
the same team twice in the same pool season.
Last player remaining (The Survivor) wins the pool!
Survivor payout is:
1st place receives 100% of the total collected pool fund |
| |
| All
pool funds will be paid out 100%
Actual payout amounts will be determined by the total
number of paid players.
